The mission of the Regional Literacy Coordinating Committee is to promote literacy in the Commonwealth, help its residents achieve their full potential to participate effectively as members of the workforce-family-and community, thus enhancing their quality of life and access to opportunity by:
- Supporting each Virginian's opportunity for lifelong learning
- Facilitating communication and collaboration among public and private literacy service providers and support organizations.
- Increasing awareness of the value of literacy to the general public in order to promote involvement in local literacy initiatives.
